Lyrics

The clouds of dust keeps coming 'round
Takes more and more of our precious ground
Nothing grows, it just don't rain
The dirt goes, suffering remains

Not much left by Thirty Five
No work, no money, can you spare a dime
FDR knows how we feel
Offered us a brand new deal

(chorus)
The clouds get bigger, darker everyday
We watch the wind blow our future away
When a loaf of bread can be found
There's not enough to go around
Give me work, I want to try
To make it through Nineteen Thirty-Five

Mmmm yeah

Sunken pride stands in lines and waits
What surplus comes for us today
Helpless knows well our despair
Look around, friends everywhere

Oh oh oh oh

Not much left by Thirty Five
No work, no money, can you spare a dime
FDR knows how we feel
Offered us a brand new deal

(repeat chorus)

Nineteen Thirty-Five yeah oh Nineteen Thirty Five

country blues describes this well, nice clean sound. good lyrical theme and vocals quite a stripped back arrangement.
good track. quality recording and performance

Interesting topic to write about

Very well done, I really enjoyed this. I have a great affection for organic roots type tunes, and this is right up that alley. It was difficult to choose the genre between blues and country because it really crosses over. So I basically had to flip a coin there. Keep it coming!

GREAT STORY TELLER SONG--I LIKE IT!--cheers--joe.----great one to do live at a local show!

Visulize Grapes of Wrath as I listened to this wonderful historical perspective.
