Story Behind the Song

I was deployed to Afghanistan, a little girl named Sydney became my pen pal. She sent me many letters, and even some fun gifts to cheer me up, even a rubber chicken! I dedicate this composition to her.

It's ragtime! Very appropriate choice of instrument as well. So much skill was poured into this that it's difficult for me to imagine how you did it! This is a very interesting and enjoyable piece to listen to, and I wouldn't be surprised to hear this in a saloon scene or something similar to an old silent film.

I thought of a court jester and then transformed to a carousel with people all happy in an animation perhaps. I then was transported to the days of silent movies. This piece of music is a little whimsical journey.
