Story Behind The Song

This hard rocking, fast paced, wall-of-guitars driven song has at its root, part of the basic rhythm from a heavy-metal song I wrote a number of years back. That basic rhythm was a perfect fit for some words/lyrics I was jotting down. All I had to do was slightly modify my previous chord progression to fit the pacing and tone of the words I was coming up with; it worked out rather perfectly I think. A solid and just as heavy bottom end rounds out the rhythm. Being a lifelong fan of not only the music and songs of Ozzy Osbourne and Van Halen, but Ozzy's unique vocal style and the great guitar work of Eddie Van Halen, I think you will surely hear those influences throughout this song; I can only hope I did them justice. All instruments are played by me; no drum machine here! Painstakingly recorded in my home studio, one track at a time. The recording itself is made up of 4-separate rhythm guitar tracks, 1-lead guitar track, 3-separate vocal tracks, 1-bass track and 2-drum tracks from the stereo out of a Yamaha DTX kit. Mixed down and mastered by me as well. Every track was individually, and painfully equalized to bring out as much sonic detail as possible. This was remixed several time until I was satisfied with the overall blending of all the tracks throughout the entire song. When I was happy with the sound I was getting through 2-separate pairs of studio and 'home' monitors as well as different types of headphones, the song was mastered using some built in mastering effects.
