?FIDDLIN? JOHN: ODE TO FIDDLIN? JOHN CARSON?
Song Lyrics
Composition and Arrangement By: Joey Stuckey
Verse 1
Let me tell you a story ?bout a man of ole
He was the king of kings, he was hell with a bow.
Not Robin Hood or Old King Cole
But Fiddllin? John with his fiddle of gold.
Givin? birth to that country sound
From Hollywood to Cabbagetown.
Chorus
Hey, Hey! Fiddlin? John.
Play, Play, ?Til the morning comes.
Hey, Hey! Rosin up your bow.
Play, Play! ?Til you can?t no more.
Hey, Fiddlin? John, let the music fill you soul.
Verse 2
Now if you listen hard you can hear his song.
Echo through the Blue Ridge Mountains of his home.
You could say he was wrong, you could say he was right.
But Fiddlin? John was out of sight.
Playin? that fiddle like a hurricane,
?Til every Jack and Jill knew his name.
Repeat Chorus
Bridge
Now when the devil came down to Georgia
Lookin? for a soul to steal.
It was Fiddlin? John he happened upon.
He couldn?t beat him and he never will.
Verse 3
Now if it hadn?t been for old John?s refrain
Of Little Old Log Cabin in the Lane.
None of us would?ve had our start
And the cradle of country would?ve lost its heart.
He was a hero, born and bonafide.
Makes every Georgia man sing out with pride.
Repeat Chorus
