Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song about some friends of mine that had a crazy relationship where one would leave and then they would always get back together. I think the song reflects my feelings as if I was in a relationship like that and how I would be.
Song Description
Just a song about being in a relationship where you are being used and abused and taking control of the situation by saying no more- if you leave, that is it, bye bye.

Lyrics
© 1994 PRETENDING ENDING
YOU SAY YOU?RE LEAVING
AND YOU DON?T LOVE ME NO MORE
BUT BEFORE YOU SHUT THAT DOOR
WELL YOU?D BETTER BE REAL SURE
CHORUS:
CUZ I CAN?T TAKE NO PRETENDING ENDING
WHEN YOU?RE GONE, YOU?RE GONE FOR GOOD
SOON MY HEART WILL START THE MENDING
SO I NEED TO MAKE IT UNDERSTOOD
THERE AIN?T NO LYIN? ABOUT GOODBYIN?
AND IT?S YOUR LAST DIME THAT YOU?RE SPENDING
YOU CAN?T COME BACK HERE SAD AND CRYIN?
CUZ I CAN?T TAKE NO PRETENDING ENDING
THIS AIN?T THE FIRST TIME
THAT YOU?VE TORN MY HEART IN TWO
LEFT ME CRYING OVER YOU
WELL I THINK IT?S TIME YOU KNEW
CHORUS:
THAT I CAN?T TAKE NO PRETENDING ENDING
WHEN YOU?RE GONE, YOU?RE GONE FOR GOOD
SOON MY HEART WILL START THE MENDING
SO I NEED TO MAKE IT UNDERSTOOD
BRIDGE:
I LOVE YOU MORE THAN WORDS CAN SAY
BUT LOVE AIN?T SUPPOSED TO HURT THIS WAY
NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO
THERE AIN?T NO LYIN? ABOUT GOODBYIN?
AND IT?S YOUR LAST DIME THAT YOU?RE SPENDING
YOU CAN?T COME BACK HERE SAD AND CRYIN?
CUZ I CAN?T TAKE NO PRETENDING ENDING
YOU CAN?T COME BACK HERE SAD AND CRYIN?
CUZ I CAN?T TAKE NO PRETENDING ENDING
