Song Description
I wrote this song for a person very close to me who was suffering the loss of a family member. It is an attempt to express my love to him, and to help him get to a place where he can feel that love coming back to him.

Lyrics
BREAKAWAY
© 1991 Joan Alexander
There?s a stillness in the canyon.
There?s an echo of your laughter here.
The silver greens still bless the rocky walls.
Can I show them to you?
We met when I was just a schoolgirl.
Your eyes shined so brightly then.
Did all your tragedies turn love away?
Can I bring it to you?
Oh, can?t you see that life is calling you?
You?re gonna make it through another day.
Just look to me,
I see your dancing eyes
Under their disguise.
Breakaway, breakaway.
Can you see the stars in heaven?
Do you feel it when they smile at you?
There is a way for you to be with them.
Can I show it to you?
Oh, can?t you see that life is calling you?
You?re gonna make it through another day.
Just look to me,
I see your dancing eyes
Under their disguise.
Breakaway, breakaway.
There are other canyons
And even brighter colors.
So if you?re gonna let love in again
You?ve got to
Breakaway.
Oh, can?t you see that life is calling you?
You?re gonna make it through another day.
Just look to me,
I see your dancing eyes
Under their disguise.
Breakaway, breakaway
