Story Behind The Song
This song was inspired by the windy hill we live on in Middleton, WI. As I was recording the album, I would constantly hear loud howling wind on windy days! And not long after we moved in we realized there was a small secluded Cemetery in the woods behind us called Evergreen Cemetery.
I was inspired to do a simple heavy Country/blues/rock song that featured slide guitar.
Simple lyrics that also mention what a challenge it is to make it up that long drive in the winter. The song starts with a calm evening sky...

Lyrics
I'm going up to, up to Howling Hill
Up that snow covered road, Lord give me the will
Cause this wind keeps blowing down Howling Hill
When I get there, I'm going to see my baby doll
Still trying to make it there, but I just don't know how
Cause this wind keeps blowing down Howling Hill
Out on the edge of town, by the old Evergreen
Spirits flying round, blowing through the trees
And now Howling Hill's got a hold on me
Going up to, up to Howling Hill
Up that snow covered road, Lord give me the will
Cause this wind keeps blowing down Howling Hill
And now Howling Hill's got a hold on me
I'm going up to, up to Howling Hill
Up that snow covered road, Lord give me the will
Cause this wind keeps blowing down Howling Hill
And now Howling Hill's got a hold on me
