Story Behind The Song
This song was written out a tremendous pain of loosing my mother who raised 11 kids on her own. My father died of cancer as well. It was a powerful moment while I was sitting on the piano crying out to God because the pain was almost unbearable. The amazing thing about this song is that it is in fact very hopeful. In the midst of the pain, there was a great amount of hope that came through the writing of this song. I am so grateful for this song as it has served as a measure of healing for those who are going through very difficult times.
Song Description
This song is very Marc Cohnish. It has a very powerful piano line, powerful background vocals and is very uplifting and hopeful even though it is about the death of my mother who battled with cancer for 2 years and died while I was holding her hand.

Lyrics
Heart of God (Is Healing)
By Jim Vilandre
January 2006 BMI
Chorus
The Heart of God is Healing
Restoring sight to those not seeing
Bringing hope to those not believing
I wanna know the heart of God
Broken down life's tears keep flowing
All the while the pain keeps showing
A desolate place at times in my soul
With no where to turn and no where to go
A clean bill of health is waiting to be shown
Chorus
There's not a pill that can remedy
The suffering of this world calamity
When someone you love is taken away
A tidal wave of emotion
Can broadside your day
And take your breath away
Chorus
Bridge
An ocean's depth of hurt
Could never sever the work
The healing power of God
Upon the souls of earth
Chorus
