Please Don't Kill Me in My Sleep

Story Behind The Song

I saw a woman walking through the Atlanta airport and I imagined what she would be like. My wife also tells me from time to time, "you have to sleep some time!"

Lyrics

Please DonÂ?t Kill Me in My Sleep
James B. Twitty

You fly to a different city every week
You walk to a tune with a different kind of beat
Lately youÂ?ve been drinking more
I heard you say youÂ?re gonna settle the score
ThereÂ?s something inside you hide that must be weak

Two baby blues, couldnÂ?t refuse
Stop what youÂ?re doing, I gotta tell you one thing more
Please donÂ?t kill me in my sleep
Please donÂ?t kill me in my sleep

You drink martinis while the other girls drink wine
You wear short black dresses, you strut like your on cloud number nine
YouÂ?d be a bad mama, YouÂ?d make a poor wife
A superficial lady, you cut like a knife

Holy matimonious, would be totally erroneous
So Stop what youÂ?re doing, I gotta tell you one thing more
Please donÂ?t kill me in my sleep
Please donÂ?t kill me in my sleep

YouÂ?re a jet setter, a Â?cell-phoneÂ? woman
A man killer, in love with yourself
Name-dropper, youÂ?ll get yourÂ?s yet
IÂ?m in your pocket, along with everyone else

You better stop what youÂ?re doing, I gotta tell you one thing more
Please donÂ?t kill me in my sleep
Please donÂ?t kill me in my sleep

Gin and vermouth is your Fountain of Youth
Peppermint Schnapps, I got pulled over by the cops

Forbidden fruit, youÂ?re in your birthday suit
