Song Description

Up until the events surrounding 9/11/2001, a child had the opinion that the parent had complete control over their environment. This song tries to re-assure the child that no matter what happens, the parent will be at their side.

Story Behind the Song

As a songwriter, I found it very difficult to write anything that could justify it's own existence. I had the main chord progression for several weeks. I just sat watching the tv playing the chords over and over.

Lyrics

In Your Eyes

In your eyes, I see the fear in your eyes, as the world turns around you

And your smile, I see the sadness in your smile, as the world turns around you

(chorus)

But you know I?m doing all that I can do

I?ll be right beside you, until the worst is through

When nothing that you see is what it seems

Don?t let them take away your dreams.

In your life, there?ll be some changes in your life, as the world turns around you

and your heart, I know there?s anger in your heart, as the world turns around you

(chorus)

and you know that I will keep on dreaming too?

Baby I?ll be dreaming about you.

In your eyes, I see the light back in your eyes, as the world turns around you

And your smile, I see the sparkle in your smile as the world turns around you
(chorus)
