Story Behind The Song
I originally wrote this song in 1966. Everyone has always liked the song but I just finished this home recording last month. I came back to it because I never really understood why I wrote it. Never happened to me. But my new girlfriend had this exact experience during her first separation in 1979.

Lyrics
"So Soon" copyright 1968
by Jonathan Graham (aka JG Lightborne)
Last train left the station
You can hear the whistle blow
But it's miles and miles away.
Now it's so soon, you're leaving me so soon,
And now you're on your way.
I only met you in the wintertime
Even though I wanted you
I knew you wouldn't stay.
And it's so soon, you're leaving me so soon,
You broke my heart today.
I know I didn't have to love you
But you stole my heart away.
But when it's wrong, even love can't make it right.
Woman, won't you please stay with me tonight?
Adieu, goodbye forever.
I know he's leaving and he's taking you away.
Now it's so soon, you're leaving me so soon,
I guess, I'll be on, my way.
