Story Behind The Song
I was getting married really young and I didn't know how I fealt about the whole concept. I really didn't understand how I was supposed to turn domestic. It became a fun joke with my friends and family, so I wrote "doris day".

Lyrics
Standing in my own house
In my own heels
In my own dress
It?s my own deal
I?m so starved I could eat a Hedda Gabler
But there?s nothing to make but soup of letters
And I?d spell it out but you won?t think I?m real
And anyway, soon, I think I?ll feel better
Oh Hey Hey Hey
Oh What can I say
I am having a Doris Day
The guys get together
Like cowboys and leather
And everything about me is lace
There isn?t a moment that I am not out there
Riding my horse in their race
The boys they just whistle
Horse stops at the sound of their pistol
I am first, but they say I?m last place
Oh Hey Hey Hey
Oh What can I say
I am having a Doris Day
Well, there?s no fair at the fair
No space in the word ?place?
So that pistol just stands as a dare
A glorious, marvelous, isn?t it so fabulous
Ultra-grab-a-dabulous day
Another day for waking
Another day for making
A painstaking Doris
Not another Doris
Close the door to Doris Day
Oh Hey Hey Hey
Oh What can I say
I am having a Doris Day
