Silver Moon

Story Behind The Song

I had a dream about a former lover years after our relationship ended. It moved me to want to reach out and contact him, but I realized that instead of making such a gesture it was best to use the dream as inspiration for new song.

Song Description

A moonlit night sparks the memory of a lost love and the passionate moments in that relationship. Years later the question of whether or not the two people still think of each other lingers. The moments are missed and the love is missed but it is known that some things are just never meant to be. Sometimes it is better to let go instead of holding on to a moment too tight. Being at peace with the past and open to what lies ahead is the heart of the song.

silver moon - All Rights Reserved - Copyright - Jennifer Appelquist 2009

there's something about a silver moon
that reminds me of you and it doesn't seem that far away
since we, were lying beneath the trees
our backs against the cement streets 'til there's no more talking left to do
and now I wonder, do you ever wonder what I'm up too

CHORUS
I miss those days that followed those nights when we were holding on a little too tight, and now I see that some things are just never meant to be

I had a dream about you last night, it's been four years and four midnights since I left your bedroom so imagine how I must have felt, to wake up and miss your smell and still there's nothing that I'd wouldn't do for you,
and yet I wonder if you ever wonder what I'm up to

CHORUS:
I miss those days that followed those nights when we were holding on a little too tight, and now I see that some things are just never meant to be

BRIDGE:
I've let go of all of that from which we breathed,
Salutations to the past now let it be

CHORUS:
I miss those days that followed those nights when we were holding on a little too tight, and now I see that some things are just never meant to be
