Story Behind The Song
This song was actually concocted during a nearly month-long battle with a very painful ear infection, which temporarily left me with only 40% of my hearing in my right ear. That I was able to still have fun creating a song, though in excruciating pain, and partially deaf, is an accomplishment for me, and thus this song is very close to me, and one of my personal favorites. The idea for the song was inspired by the many late night drives through the city that my wife and I like to take, to wind down from a busy day. The cool breeze, the hum of the motor and motion of vehicle, as well as the epic view of stars and moon against a clear dark blue sky, all helped to inspire the smooth and sexy atmosphere that this song has.
Song Description
'Cruisin' is a mid-tempo instrumental Smooth Jazz jam, employing a variety of different sounds and instruments. Reminiscent of the songs once played on Detroit's V98.7, Javonte Treble's use of digital xylophones, sitars, the "woodblock" sound, and a smooth-as-butter string section, make this song perfect for exactly what the title of the song says: Cruisin'.
