It was inspired by long late night highway drives, when everything has a dark and hypnotic quality, your eyes are tired, the crowd was sparse and you are using all the money you made at the gig paying for gas. This is a song about doing what you love and hoping that it will love you back. It is about being hungry to take your music to people, it is about loving music, staring at the dashboard lights and listening to late night AM radio evangelists to try to keep awake.
