Story Behind The Song
I lost a personal relationship over religious beliefs. It seemed so artifical a reason; there were so many more things that should have been able to overcome this one, which seemed petty to me. It seemed an apt metaphor for conflict between religious and ethnic groups.
Song Description
It's about starting with yourself to let go of all the things in your life that separate us from each other - from our personal relationships to more global ones.

Lyrics
TAKE DOWN THE WALL
Verse 1: I was just a kid. I was new to pain.
Can your heart forgive? It's your blood in my veins.
I made so life hard for you, but how much do I owe?
Clinging to a wall of tears... why don't we let go?
Chorus: TAKE DOWN THE WALL
Tell me what you see...
Just me there, standin' where.
You know you want to be.
Verse 2: Love my neighbor, too... just not your kind.
I don't look like you, but your wall looks like mine.
I am Black, or Red, or White, Arab man or Jew.
Tryin' to get the things I want, takin' it from you.
Chorus:
Bridge: Living how we learned to live
It's our right - and wrong.
Pray that someone can forgive.
Love alone can be that strong.
Chorus: (2nd X ad lib)
