Story Behind The Song
Ritchie Pettibone (his dad was a Washington Redskin coach with Joe Gibbs) told me one night about the song writer of Kenny Chesneys "No shoes, no shirt, no problems" Her dad also was a Washington Redskin coach. It seemed that a lot of Mexico songs were being written. That night I wrote "Someone down in Mexico". It took about 30 minutes or so. We recorded it shortly thereafter. Thank's to Ritchie Pettibone, "Someone down in Mexico" is now heard around the world!! This song is one of my favorites!! Jimmy Buffett probably could have written this song. Oh well! Jimmy if you want to record it, just e-mail me!! Or if you would like to sing it with us, that would be very cool! (Joe Salik)
I will place the lyrics here as soon as I find which computer has them! (Joe)
