Song DescriptionYou can't sleep because he's are still on your mind. It's raining outside, and you wonder where he is but just hope he's okay. You think about fond memories and maybe how to get him back, but it's been a long time. Sleep would be good but in the morning you'll just have to pretend everything's okay and you dreamed it all.
Story Behind the SongI was out of town for a night with my parents, and my dad and his friend smoked cigars in the room. I tried to sleep on the floor but couldn't because of the smell and smog. So I went downstairs to the hotel's breakfast nook, made myself some tea, and began to write this song. I wondered what it would be like to lay awake at night, wondering where your old love is, so I explored that.
