Story Behind The Song
I wrote this when W. got tired of fattening frogs for snakes and they all decided to cash in and loot the treasury to cover their gambling debts. Now since everyone's being foreclosed on we'll have a lot more hobos to sing "Hard Times".

Hard Times
copyright by Larry Heyl 2008
start with chorus
Hard times come and hard times go
Some folks rich and some folks po
You know I'm gone when I need to go
Cause I don' need no money no mo
You don't think I'd wait on a train
You don't think I'd walk in the rain
I just know come rain or snow
I don' need no money no mo
chorus
I'm tired of working all damn day
Got to be a better way
I ain't no slave and I ain't yo ho
No! I don' need no money no mo
chorus
I'm like a dog without a bone
Like a man without a home
Walkin down the tracks like an ol' hobo
I don' need no money no mo
chorus
Had a little gal all dressed in red
Made her livin on a feather bed
She whupped me once for goin to slow
Now I don' need no money no mo
chorus
Had a little gal all dressed in blue
I even tol' her I love you
But she loved another now don't ya know
And I don't need no money no mo
chorus
