Song Description

When the title is, "FOOLS ON BARSTOOLS", you don't need much of a description to fill you in on what the song is about. If you don't get it, your most likely setting on one of those barstools!

Story Behind the Song

When I was younger, and much dumber, I ran the bars with my cousin, who like to close them down. Every Friday and Saturday night, there we would be; drinking, chasing skirts and acting the fool. I was single, but my cousin was not! Needless to say, his wife did not appreciate his bad habits, and showed him just how much she disapproved, she divorced him. He did not learn much from the message she gave him. He kept right on being another fool on a barstool.

Lyrics

"FOOLS ON BAR STOOLS"
by Gerald d. Ulmer

I remember ~ all the Friday nights ~ I didn't come home!
I can see her now, ~ waiting, crying by the phone.
And I remember ~ what she said back then!
Some morning you'll come dragging in, ~ and I'll be packing to go!
And then you'll be! ~ Just another cheating fool, ~ that broke up a happy home!

CHORUS***
What makes a man ~ want to swat the bar flies!
What makes a man ~ want to drink cheat and lie?
That's what she ask ~ as she closed the door.
I remember so well ~ that's when my heart hit the floor!

Well I still spend my nights ~ on my favorite bar stool.
Just another sad clown ~ sitting with a row of fools!
But that happy go lucky clown ~ that sat here before.
Well, he passed away with the good times, as she walked out the door.

REPEAT CHORUS ***
