Find a Way to Love

Story Behind The Song

I originally wrote the song as a comeback to Phil Collins' "Take a Look At Me Now". At first the story was nothing BUT sad, but after several rewrites it ended up with a hopeful twist...just maybe these two lovers aren't really finished after all.

Song Description

Sad but hopeful.

Lyrics

Find A Way to Love

by the cold light of tomorrow you will be gone
leaving only a shadow that lingers on
what happens now?
always thought we?d make it somehow
how sad to hear you say the word goodbye

could we ever find a way to love
and bring it home again
you and I were close to perfect
I can?t believe this is the end
could we ever find a way to love
if we looked past the bad we?d see our good
oh if only we could
find a way to love
a way back to love

we were so impassioned, so naïve
hopelessly lost in a world of make believe
oh, how we loved to fight
(how we loved to love)
but deep inside was something so right
oh baby could you feel the way I feel

could we ever find a way to love
and bring it home again
you and I were close to perfect
I can?t believe this is an end
could we ever find the way to love
if we looked past the bad we?d see our good
oh if only we could
find a way to love
a way back to love

I saw beautiful
when I got to really know you
just as you are
we can get so blind
to the very love we?re looking for
and now that
I see you
I can?t see you go
oh no no no baby?

could we ever find a way to love
and bring it home again
you and I are close to forever
I won?t believe this is the end
could we ever find our way to love
when we look past the dark we?ll see our light
and know that we were right
we?ll find a way to love
a way back to love
