Big Imagination

Story Behind The Song

Garrick had a friend in college that was always high. First thing in the morning that friend would take a "bong" hit of marijuana, before he really had a chance to wake up and utilize his natural energy or create a sober vision for his life.

Song Description

Big Imagination speaks to those who fear trying new things. The chorus describes someone who numbs themself from the from their own potential. For instance, "woke up in the morning just to put myself back to sleep" refers to someone that might wake up in the morning and smoke pot to face the day. The bridge of the song exults in what it will be like to test the potential of what's in your mind and heart.

Lyrics

BIG IMAGINATION

Big Imagination

I have got a big imagination
But the problem is
too much hesitation
I say I've got an idea
But I'm still thinkin' 'bout it
Two weeks gone by now
And I'm still thinkin' 'bout it

I've got a big imagination
But the problem is
my reputation
They say I drink too much
But I don't think so
I say I'll show you all
I'll drink you under the table

(chorus)
Well I woke up in the morning
just to put myself back to sleep
Nothing else could ever do
My blood must be like tea
mixed with alcohol

I have got a big imagination
But if I don't use it
I might as well not have one
I keep dreamin' up things
But I don't have a stage
I need somethin' to stand on
besides my own legs

(Chorus)

I know there's a problem
Why don't you leave me alone?
Everybody's got problems
I just need to get rid of some
I'm gonna be my own boss
I've got determination
In one fell swoop
I'm gonna change my direction

Gonna be big time
I'm gonna have a good time
(Not that you want to know)
I'll get off this stalled train
'Cause I've got my own plane
I'm gonna go against the grain
Before I get too old

I have got a big imagination
It's a crazy thing when you
use your own imagination
Big Imagination!
