Song Description

This is a heavy riff based song that is agressive and pounding. The slick tempo change-ups make you want to bang your head and shout along with the vocals.

Story Behind the Song

"Take A Walk" is a reflection of how many of us have been forced to grow up a certain way according to what was deemed to be "best" for us by our parents, teachers, elders, coaches, government or whatever. Our mistakes and shortcomings are held against us out of ignorance and blindness to the fact that the aforementioned people are directly responsible for the way we turned out.

Lyrics

TAKE A WALK
Music: From These Ashes ? Lyrics: Jason Potter

INTRO
Take a walk ? take a walk

VERSE 1:
In this world of suffering
We become numb to pain
On our knees since the day of birth
We?ve lived a life of shame
Empty eyes tell of scars untold
We can?t live with our past
And we can?t live with the past

CHORUS:
I KNOW THAT YOU THINK THAT WE ARE INSANE CRAZY
IT?S NO WONDER WHY IT?S JUST LIKE THIS MAYBE
YOU SHOULD WALK WITHIN OUR WORLD FOR JUST ONE DAY
THEN YOU COULD SEE EXACTLY WHERE WE?RE COMING FROM

Take a walk ? take a walk

VERSE 2:
Our youth has been taken from us
We?ve grown up too fast
Soldier toys fight with ball & chain
There?s no way we?re gonna last
Empty eyes tell of scars untold
We can?t remember our past
Aw man there?s no way we can remember the past

CHORUS

BRIDGE
I know ? I know ? (you think I don?t but) I know ? I know

CHORUS x 2

Take a walk
