Story Behind The Song
A friend of mine who I literally wrote thousands of songs with died of a drug overdose. During one particular session when we were recording on a boombox to cassette, we were getting tired, but decided we had to keep going and "fill this side"; as in this side of the tape. In a later solo session, working on a cassette 4-track, I looked down and realized I had precious little tape left. The decision on how to fill the side was obvious. I did it in Jeff's honor. And the tape ran out right as I finished the song..
Song Description
The song is about band mates now gone (dead) who you will never be able to jam with again. It's about musicians who are taken from you and the feelings of loneliness associated with knowing that those feelings of comradery and teamwork will never ever happen again.
