Lyrics
After awhile, old friend
Lord, I sure will miss your smile. old friend
You see it takes a little while
but it's finally sinking in
You won't pass by this way again
And the days still roll on by, my friend
clouds will tumble through the sky again
I have come to realize, there will be lows there will be highs
no matter how you cut the pie
Music was the dream, you see
You'd tell us all how it's supposed to be
was it real or was it make believe?
Was sorrow tigging at our sleeve?
And then you smle and waive good bye
smile and waive goodbye
smile and waive goodbye- Goodbye
It's OK I know you just couldn't get it together
Sometimes I wonder if you ever regret it
You feel the love that you left behind
But brother we can still see your shining eyes.
Thought I saw you the other day, My friend
I didn't want to walk away my friend
BUt I'm reminded once again
we've lost another gentleman
now that you're gone with the wind.
Music was the dream you see
You'd tell us all how it's supposed to be
was it real or was it make believe
was sorrow tugging at your sleeve?
After awhile, old friend
