Story Behind The Song

I wanted to write a song for young children comparing the rotation of our earth around the sun to something they could understand. It came to me in my sleep--A Carousel In The Sky!

Song Description

Carousel music, created on the synthesizer, creating an image of a merry-go-round up in the sky, where the planets always go round and round the sun! Educational music that helps teach about years, planets and seasons. Happy, uplifting and full of joy, a perfect teaching tool for space education.

Carousel In The Sky

There is a bright, hot sun,
Way up in the sky,
Where Earth & other planets,
Always circle by.

All nine happy planets,
Go round and round the sun,
Making all our years go by,
One, by one, by one!

And as they keep on floating,
Around the big, fat sun,
They bring us lovely seasons,
Each and every one!!

Round and round, round and round,
They go twirling by,
Round and round, round and round,
A Carousel in the sky!!

Then to make it lots more fun,
The planets twirl too,
Giving us our days and nights,
Spinning for me and you!!

While the planets spin,
Around the yellow sun,
The sparkly stars just twinkle,
And watch the space-time fun!

The planets, sun, and sparkly stars,
All laugh up in the sky,
They enjoy the merry-go-round,
Just like you and I!!
