Story Behind The Song
This song originated out of the frustration and angst of being in debt for so long.
Song Description
A smooth, sad song with lush harmonies and interwoven vocal parts lamenting about how long the singer has been down and longing for change. The chorus lyrics demand for the rain to go away, but not before washing away the pain. There are references to being down, being in debt and coming up short, being wrong, seeking and knocking for hope. It taps into the angst that a person feels when having been stuck in something for a long time, and longing for change. Similar to Dido's sound. Piano, guitar, strings and drums.

Lyrics
Been so long. Been so long
Been so long, and I?m still standing here
with the same pair of shoes on
I?ve been down. I?ve been down
I?ve been down?I?ve memorized this
view from the ground
How long? How long? How long?
Rain, rain, go away...but not before you
wash away my pain, my pain
Rain falls on these endless days
Spring time comes, but winter
always comes again.
I?ve been wrong. I?ve been right
I?ve been blind?but I try to walk by
faith and not by sight
I?ve been wanting. I?ve been longing
I?ve been calling at the door,
and I?ll keep on knocking
How long? How long? How long?
Rain, rain, go away...
I?ve got a dollar in my pocket
Ten thousand due tomorrow,
and it won?t be long before my debt comes calling,
It seems I?m really falling short?coming up short,
comin? up short, yeah yeah?
Rain, rain, go away...
Been so long. Been so long.
Been so long, and I?m still standing here
with the same pair of shoes on
