Story Behind The Song
This actually happens to me every once in a while and I wanted to capture the sweetness of lying in bed and realizing that life is good in a whole different light than when I went to bed in the first place. The first verse represents those unfortunate times when I have gone to bed angry and the end represents the waking up with a whole different outlook on any "little" situation that may have caused the going to bed angry in the first place

Lyrics
COLLISION COURSE
You can talk to me till were both worn down
After many miles of ridin there?s no slowing down (it?s a)
Fast train rollin down this one way track
once we
Hit that point there?s no turnin back
(I?m on a)
Midnight ride that doesn?t have an end
(and there?s a)
Dense fog just started rollin in (well I?m)
Too tired to sleep so I think I?ll just stay here
Waitin on the coming of day (Tell me)
How long till we hit sunlight ( I won?t be)
Caught alone here in the dead of night
(and there?s those)
Steel Rails:
Steel rails that hold our lives on the line
We?re here to do more than just pass the time
Headlights:
There?s headlights cutting through the dark of night
Lone car racing for the crossing signs
Running to the window, faces to the glass
We?re closin in and we?re closing fast
Whistle blow:
There's a whistle blowin, lovers cryin, steel rails screamin, thunder and lightning
Collision course:
Collision course (4x)
TAG
I lie awake and I watch you sleepin, such a sweet and peaceful feeling
I lie awake, I watch you sleep, the world is still and you?re here with me
I lie awake and I watch you sleepin, I?m so glad I was, only dreamin
