Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song after meeting the woman that would become my wife. We both had been through tough relationships of one kind or another, but we were determined to move ahead together.
Song Description
Two people reflect on their love for each other. Their confessions reveal the darkness and tragedy that can be found in all of our souls, and how we come to trust someone enough to show this part of ourselves. The characters profess that true love also needs hope to overcome all.

Lyrics
Reliance
She said, there's a picture
Unframed in my mind
Stark and lacking
Breathless out of time
But not without hope
And not without sight
Running, simply running
With you in my mind
He said, there's a place
Unchained in my soul
Wild and restless
Unbreakable outta control
But not without passion
And not without pain
Running, simply running
With you at the reins
And my heart will rest on you
And my soul will sing your truth
Never to hide, never to hide again
(repeat)
She told him, there's doubt
Creeping into my bones
Dark and restless
Unshakeable, all alone
But not without reason
And not without fright
Running, simply running
Into the black of night
But my heart will rest on you
And my soul will sing your truth
Never to hide, never to hide again
(repeat
Lord, there is faith
Deep in our souls
