Lyrics
Young boy, in a small town, Nothin' much to do but just hang around, that was long before DVDs and Video Games
His older brother had a six-string guitar ... he picked it up and it ... touched his heart, within a month he learned a song by Murray McGlaughlin.
And as the days and the weeks went by, he had a talent he couldn't deny, in six months he formed his first Rock n Roll band.
They played at parties and at small-town events, he didn't care about the dollars & cents, it was the sound of the guitar that made him come to life.
CHORUS: (And so he) worked hard, struggled long. He loved the music, the music was strong within him. One day he'd be playing on the radio. He didn't care about the money at all, long as he could play to a packed-out
hall. On a Saturday night he'd be playing 'till two in the morning.
Ten years later, at the top of the charts ... and though the guitar still touched his heart ... he looked back, and he realized he kinda felt empty.
Whatever happened to that small-town boy? His friends and family could not share his joy. He was too many miles away, and too many millions richer.
Threw all his things into the back of a van ... looked up his buddies from his very first band ... said, "C'mon guys, let's do like we used to do." They set up their guitars, the drums and the bass ... you better believe it man, they rocked that place, it was a Saturday night and they played until Two in the
Morning
He walked away from fortune and fame. Rockn'roll was such vicious game. After so much time, he knew it was finally right (to settle down). Married the girl, she was his childhood sweet; he still plays music every week. On a
Saturday night he's still playing 'till two in the morning.
