Song Description

Someone you depended on loses interest in your friendship but never really says they've lost interest, so you point it out to them after feeling rejected for months and months and finally bury the dream that had long been dead.

Story Behind the Song

Someone I depended on lost interest in our musical relationship. Took me a few songs to process but I'm through it now. Doing better. No hard feelings. :) This one Justin sent to me sounding pretty much exactly as it does now with a yellow sticky note

Lyrics

real as a photograph framed in a lover?s hand
where poetry and passion had a place to land
oh a picture can be deceiving
and to tear it in two can be relieving

i?ll give you to your desires
enjoy the beauty and the briars
i leave here tomorrow, i leave here tomorrow
and you won?t cry, it?s alright

still as a photograph caught in the flashing light
i secure a corner i guessed you?d be here tonight
eloquent and distant critical and cold
pandering to you my friend has turned me bitterly bold

how you romanticize your gracious sacrifice
i leave here tomorrow, i leave here tomorrow
and you won?t cry nor will i

i know what i am, i understand
i know what we are: rock and sand
we?re different and the same
it?s our differences we have to blame

i?ll give you to your desires
enjoy the beauty and the briars
i leave here tomorrow, i leave here tomorrow

how you romanticize your gracious sacrifice
i leave here tomorrow, i leave here tomorrow
and you won?t cry nor will i

i know what i am, i understand
i know what we are: rock and sand
we?re different and the same
it?s our differences we have to blame
i?m weary waiting wanting something of you
and daily hate is haunting my love for you
i?ll cut these apron strings, it?s my election
dear now we both can go in any direction
