Song Description
This is a story about a man that goes out of town on another business trip then goes into a strip club; only to be horrified to see his daughter dancing as one of the strippers.
He tries to leave the place without her noticing him; only to run into her in the parking lot outside.
As they both stare at each other in shock, she begins to rattle off to him that she is not doing anything wrong because he always told her mother there is nothing wrong with him going to a strip joint. If it is okay for him, then it is okay.
Not being able to defend his actions and seeing no way to out and no way to win this argument because of his actions he laments that he wishes his little girl could still be three thus inferring he could start over and do it right this time.

Lyrics
Imagine my surprise; I stood horrified
She didn't know that I saw her show
It was my little girl; showin' all the world
What I didn't see; since she was three
I was out of town another business trip
Made my way to the local strip
Went into a club supposedly
For gentlemen and guys like me
For some good clean fun for some booze and wine
But I never ever dreamed I'd see.
My little girl
Dancin' for money
Tried to get out quick, felt like I would be sick
Hurried out the door, couldn't take it no more
Then I walked into my fear, she was standing right there
The look of shock upon her face, then to my own disgrace
She reminded me of my own history
Looked me dead in the eye and used my old alibi
Wait a minute daddy I've done nothing wrong
It's just like all those stories that you told mom
I still remember all her cryin' pleadin' please don't run
You'd tell her it was all just harmless fun
A little release, a little excitement
It's just some good clean harmless fun
With nothin' going on.
She just kept on talkin' to me
I just kept thinkin' 'bout, when she was still three
And she said:
I'm swearin' to you daddy nothin's going on
Isn't this the way you always told it to mom
As she spoke to me my mind could not keep track
What's done is done there ain't no goin' back
What was just to be good clean fun
Is now haunting me in my little pretty one
Oh! Pity me why can't she still be
Three!
