Lyrics

BYE BYE MAGGIE

maggie plays piano in the dark
she plays with all her heart
and she sings about something better

she was forced to grow up much too fast
and spends alot of time in the past
to decide what really matters

she's going to fly away and leave it all behind
today will be the day she'll spread her wings and fly

bye bye my maggie
bye bye 'til another day
fly fly high maggie
fly fly away

maggie never had a chance to try
opportunities passed her by
and her dreams just drifted away

i don't want to wave goodbye to maggie
but i know that she'll finally be happy
playing piano all day

she's going to fly away and leave it all behind
today will be the day she'll spread her wings and fly

bye bye my maggie
bye bye 'til another day
fly fly high maggie
fly fly away

...when maggie waves goodbye
she's got her wings to fly

great listen ,,
nice chords n arrangement n lyrics
love the concept of the song

This song stands on it's own without an elaborate production. The lead vocals are strong & suit the song perfectly & i feel that it's a modern version of a "1960's type of song" but personally i like the "retro"-ness of this track. It makes me feel like there's always room for a "real heartfelt " song that could literally be played around a campfire!!!

Attractive song, pop ballad style. Reminded me of Stealer's Wheel or Gerry Rafferty. Nice minor chord opening, shifting to major for the chorus.

grand openin, engagin' vocal tones, pretty harmonies, nice chorus...

I hear John Lennon reborn. Perfect for the style and very well interpretated. Sublime for us of another generation. I felt myself back in the mid to late 60's....

"bye-bye my Maggie" - catchy phrase and sticks with you. Had me from the get go. Nice chord progression. Soaring harmonies added a lot to the song. Picked it up where it lacked extra instrumentation.

Like the lead vocal, harmonies are typical

always like acoustic stuff...like the overall vibe of this tune.
