Song Description

"Down To This" is about tearing ourselves down to the simplest and most basic level there is in a relationship, where all the complications and undualtions we run into in our day to day lives are all removed, and all that is left to deal with is who we are, as men and women.

Story Behind the Song

I wanted to describe the emotions, with sound, that I was feeling over tearing myself down, to find out what was at the crux of my personal problems in relationships.

Lyrics

Breaking down this lonely soul
Taking up all collected
Tearing up resolutions
And all that?s protected

Walking down the lonely road
And the signs posted in the distance
Better get down off this fence
Before I get arrested

Because I'm down to this
So down to this
So down to this

Trapped out in the cold
Like a child left in a basket
Wipe away the tears
Its lucky we even lasted

[Bridge]
Tear down these binds
Tear them down until we all are free
Break down the silence
Break it down so that all can see
The ugly thoughts leave those words behind
Remove the vessel and see what we will find
Break down the walls, see what was true
Break it all down until there?s only --- Me and you
Only me and you
Taking it down to this
Only me and you
Taking it down to this
