Song Description

This is an old fiddle tune and I imagined the people who would sing it.

What's not to like about this cheerful bluegrass harvest tune? Excellent lyrics, balanced expert instrumentation. I like the way the arrangement features fiddle, guitar, and banjo and all the players get a chance to shine. Makes you want to get up and dance! Vocals are crystal clear, understandable and right on target, even on those high notes. Nicely done!

Love this one! Such an amazing performance. Great sound quality and musicianship. Vocal is over the top.

Lyrics

Cherokee Shuffle words by s.nikas, tune traditional

Days are growing short
And the nights are long
The crops are almost in
Summer is over and Fall is here
And the Harvest is near at an end
So we'll harness up the horse and cart
And head on into town
And join the dancers in their best
As they do-se-do around

We'll dance all night to the Cherokee fiddle
With the banjo ringing clear
We'll do-se-do to the fiddle and the bow
And forget that winter's near
Forget that winter's near
For the Cherokee Shuffle is my favorite tune
As we two-step round the floor
We'll dance all night 'til the broad day light
And beg for just one more, beg for just one more

There's no time for dancing 'round
Or holding each other near
When you work from sun to sun
And harvest time is here
But the Autumn wind's blowing in crisp and clear
It's the changing of the year
The crop is in and the wood is cut
And dancing time is here

We'll dance all night to the Cherokee fiddle
With the banjo ringing clear
We'll do-se-do to the fiddle and the bow
And forget that winter's near
Forget that winter's near
For the Cherokee shuffle is my favorite tune
As we two-step round the floor
We'll dance all night, 'til the broad daylight
And beg for just one more, beg for just one more
