Story Behind The Song
This song had been in me for awhile. I had been thinking about life in my grandmother's time and how they lost their children almost as a matter of course as my grandmother did. It was just something I had to look at. At one of my gigs a man told me that this one was pretty close to the bone. I told him it was hard to write but what can I say? It had to come out.
Song Description
This is a song about an adult who loses a child that was absolutely everything to her. It is probably the most painful thing anyone can imagine and the one thing most of us parents never even want to think about.

Lyrics
Sophie
Brown eyes deep
Brown golden curls
porcelin doll such a perfect little girl
In the tall grass I'd watch her play
Beauty and peace to my every day
Time's a lady and some day she'll bring you back to me
All my love
Sophie
Angel hair on my pillow case,
The look of wonder on her face
Angel sighs and baby breath
Images that will never let me rest.
Time's a lady
and with her touch she heals me
And fades my memory of
Sophie
To feel your softness in my arms again
To smell the fragrance of your skin
I wake up from sweaty dreams
The room still echos with my screams
as I'm losing you.
Time's a lady
and with her touch she heals me
And fades my memory of
Sophie
