Song Description

This song starts with an organ feel, very solitary soft in the beginning and builds with passion towards the end. It's a song about looking for love, being ready and reflecting on what it means to be ready for such a thing. The drums come in loud at the climax of the song which is the second verse.

Story Behind the Song

I was sitting on my bed, kneeling actually. And all I could seem to look at was this green plaid pillow and how it made the light around it green. I felt alone but inspired to find the love I always was looking for deep inside.

Lyrics

There's one green plaid pillow where I kneel alone now.
Whispering about some lover I'll come to know somehow.

Maybe there's something I'm missing some dear thing gone unseen.
Before her road races her right here beside me.
Ah ha, Ah ha...

It's the Green Light that carried you home,
It'll be the one you won't take alone.
It's that green light you carried in me
It'll be the one you won't back down on.

I'm no good with sweet songs
I write like a soldier.
Whose fingers grow warm as the lines bleed much bolder.

And I'm no good with pieces and unreasonable defenses.
I'll love you wide open preheated and senseless.

Ah ha...Ah ha...Ah ha

It's the Green Light that carried you home,
It'll be the one you won't take alone.
It's that green light you carried in me
It'll be the one you won't back down on.

This Green Light that carried you home,
It'll be the one you won't take alone.
It's that green light you carried in me
It'll be the one you won't back down on.
