Story Behind The Song
Trisha and I got married very young. We had a long distance relationship the required one of us to move to the other. Upon graduation, Trisha (17) really wanted to move to the city I lived in to be with me and get married. She did, and we did! Later she began a song that described the journy of emancipation which I helped touch up, mostly with lyrics and music to the bridge.
Song Description
Young, ambitious and even early emancipation from home to conqure the world and fullfill your dreams and destiny!
The verses simmer with the description of leaving home young. The 3/4 waltz with a touch of jazz guitar give you a sense of journey as the lyrics take you into the mind of ambitious and energetic youth. The transition of the chorus into the verse is a quick wask down which has the effect of tumbling into the young ladies mind as she embarks on her life's journey. The chorus addresses doubt about success that is overshadowed with a sense of obligation towards an overpowering ambition to live your dreams.
The bridge brings the song to an emotional high with passionate instrumentation and a change from minor based chord progressions to major. The lyrics reveal the extreme ideals of a fresh, passionate, youthful mind.

Lyrics
She was only seventeen.
She had her whole life ahead of her.
So she packed up her bags,
headed out, with nothing in store.
Destiny called,
waiting there
whispering her name.
To leave her secure little world
it must be for real.
Chorus:
And is her dream worth it?
She's going to follow her heart.
And how does she know it?
The answer's been clear
from the start.
Now she's in the real world
where all seems impossible.
She works for a living
and that barely gets her by.
She's wanting more
than filling these empty pockets.
She's longing to come to the place
where her dreams will come true.
(Chorus)
She doesn't care about fame
'cause she doesn't want to be
that kind of girl.
And she isn't striving for riches,
she just wants to change the world.
She wonders if she'll ever know
if all this is worth it.
Is it worth it?
But she's come to find
it's the journey that counts in the end.
