Song Description
We initially wrote this song in 2016 as a tribute to those who braved the quest for a new life in the Prairie provinces of Canada and settled our home province of Saskatchewan in the early 1900s.

Lyrics
[Intro]
I built my life
On the hopes of those
Who came before me yesterday
Oh yesterday
[Verse 1]
They came from everywhere
And spread out across this land
They were brave and not afraid
To start again
They built little houses
With little more than their own hands
They built a nation
They built this land
[Chorus]
And I built my life
On the hopes of those
Who came before me yesterday
On the hopes of those
Who made their way here yesterday
Oh yesterday
[Verse 2]
There was a lot to know
Everything about life was tough
Still they found a way to help
Each other out
And in their minds there lived hope
And that hope became a dream
That their children and children's children
Would succeed
[Chorus]
And I built my dreams
On the hopes of those
Who came before me yesterday
On the hopes of those
Who made their way here yesterday
Oh yesterday
[Bridge]
And I was born
After all the work was done
The trees were cut, the land was plowed
And the grains grew tall
Yeah I was born
After all the work was done
Guess you could say I was the lucky one
[Chorus]
'Cause I built my life (built my life)
On the hopes of those
Who came before me yesterday
On the hopes of those
Who made their way here yesterday
Oh yesterday
