Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song days before WITH ALL OF MY HEART after meeting a lovely lady at the bar from England; I always wanted to write an allegorical Pop song with a storyline. I wanted to explore the female ruler/soldier love storyline that has lasted throughout the ages but with one twist: a happy ending. tristan and Isolde, lancelot and Guinevere and even a more historically accurate couple like Antony and Cleopatra all had tragic endings. Why not a change in that trend?

Lyrics
I was a soldier of fortune
And I've fought in many campaigns
But when you came along, I was not very strong
And now only my armor remains
From distant lands you have travelled,
Draped in a garment of green
When you reached out to me, it was not hard to see that true romance was not just a dream
For the Knight and the Queen
I am your Champion of Virtue when others seek to do you harm
I have made casualties with the sword you gave me so that I can hold you in my arms
You know that I wouldn't hurt you
My faithfulness you have seen
In our castle we'll be as steady as a calm sea now that Fate chooses to intervene
For the Knight and the Queen
We could rule countries together
We could make laws of our own
I'll be yours now and forever
From now on you won't be alone
I was a soldier of fortune
And I've fought in many campaigns
when you reached out to me, it was not hard to see that true romance was not just a dream
For the Knight and the Queen
For the Knight and the Queen
