Story Behind The Song
I wrote this tune last summer before I took a vacation to the mountains in order to escape with my wife for some time away from gadgets and schedules.

Lyrics
Off the Grid
Words and Music by Brent Hardesty
Verse 1:
Come away with me
For a weekend ride
Down an old dirt road
Up the mountainside
I got an old log cabin
We can be alone
Turn off your laptop
Throw away the phone
Chorus:
Just tell your ma
To keep an eye on the kids
Hop on my Harley
We're goin'off the grid
Verse 2:
There's no running water
Just a mountain spring
Don't need a radio
To hear the crickets sing
No e-mails to answer
We won't need the news
We'll trade the flat screen
For a country view
Chorus:
So just tell your ma
To keep an eye on the kids
Hop on my Harley
We're goin'off the grid
Bridge:
Don't text me
Just meet me
At the corner store by seven
We're goin' off line
Suspended in time
The real me
The real you
In a virtual heaven
Verse 3:
Where no one can find us
'Til we want to be found
Up here in the sticks
There ain't a soul around
No schedules, no deadlines
To cramp our style
No phony happy faces
Just your real live smile
Chorus:
So just tell your ma
To keep an eye on the kids
Hop on my Harley
We're goin' off the grid
