Please Come Home

Story Behind The Song

This was actually written during a breakup experience. In the real life case, it had a happy ending. It seemed to be more consistant with the rest of the song when the breakup actually followed through. We should maybe do a happy/peachy/everything is OK now version, but we feel this version has it's own cohesivness. Is there is an artist who can put it across and make everyone of the opposite sex feel "now here's my chance"?

Song Description

This song is supposed to evoke an emotional response, either from someone who is in a relationship and has had near breakups, or someone who has been saddened by the breakup of a relationship. It could end on a "happy" note with the change of a few words, but it was left in this case as a definitive ending to the relationship.

Lyrics

Please Come Home

(verse 1)
I think how our life could be,
are we so unhappy you and me.
Why must you go?
You know my broken heart will always show.

(chorus)
I would cry no more tears,
if you please come home.
Don't you care how I'd feel,
if you don't come home?

(chorus tag)
There can still be better times to find.
Are you so unhappy being mine?

(verse 2)
I wish you'd come back today,
I can't believe you want to end this way.
I'm so tired of the games,
I just can't believe that you don't feel the same

(chorus)
Why must you be so cold?
Won't you please come home?
Together we'd grow old.
That's what I was told.

(chorus tag)
There can still be better times to find.
Are you so unhappy being mine?

(solo)

(chorus tag)
What happened to us here today?
How is it our love should end this way?

(verse 3)
I watch you walk away,
I never dreamed that I would see this day.
I won't beg, I won't cry or plea,
Just realize your leavin's killin' me.

(chorus)
I would cry no more tears,
if you please come home.
Don't you care how I'll feel,
if you don't come home?

(chours tag)
What happened to us here today?
How is it our love should end this way.
