Story Behind The Song
I was watching my brother and his two daughters. I noticed how attacthed to he was and how independtent they were. He would shake his head and say, " They're growing up so fast I don't know what I'm going to do." They was no doubt in my mind those girls loved their Dad, But I could see he was going to have a hard time once they got older.

Lyrics
Holding On
copyright 2005 William Scroggs
Verse:
She started walking today holding on to her daddy?s fingers
You can see through the smile on his face, that a fear now lingers
Will he always be there to catch her when she falls
That?s a question that he doesn?t know
as he tries holding on to
Chorus:
Letting go of the one thing that means most in the world
It gets harder everyday and he wishes time would slow
For every moment that passes by, the more he comes to realize
That one day she?ll want to know
Just what can be found beyond the lights of this town
As he tries holding on to ... letting go
Verse:
She?s gonna ride her bike today for the first time
All her fear is gone
With determination in her eyes she takes off
But guess who?s holding on
She says, Don?t worry Daddy. I?ll be just fine. I?ll take it nice and slow.
As he tries holding on to....
Chorus:
On her wedding day, he never thought he would make it through
Till she whispered to him ?Daddy I?m holding on too ....
Chorus:
Holding on to letting go
