Song Description

A little conversation at a grave.

Story Behind the Song

It's been quite awhile since I've written a new tune. Decided to enter a contest and only had one day to submit something. Wrote and recorded this in a crazy 24 hour period. This never happens......

Really an excellent song, reminding me of Randy Newman. Definitely more Pop than Rock. Great piano sound and overall the recording tones are exceptional.

I haven't climbed the Eiffel Tower
Or heard 'Big Ben" as it strikes the hour
Never sailed to the Barrier Reef
Or tasted "Wagyu" beef
Haven't swam in that Blue Lagoon
Or placed a dusty boot on a chilly moon
But, I've known you

Never been to a Broadway show
Or heard my voice on the radio
There's lots of places I'll never go
Things I'll never do
Still, my life's not been empty
Didn't miss a thing
Tied my adventures to a golden ring
And you

As I weed our garden
Hoe between the rows
Prune the trees
Where the sweet fruit grows
I'll tend the love you planted
In this grateful soul

Drove to town for some fencing wire
Folks asked "Hi, just wonderin' how you're doin'?"
Nice to have friends who understand
It takes time to heal
They'd all shared your passion
Knew your stubborn side
Your faith in God
The things you wouldn't abide
And they loved you, too....they loved you, too.

Fresh vase of flowers
By a granite stone
Cheeks are wet
