Story Behind The Song
As I grew older and realized my life had turned out somewhat different than what I had dreamed of as a child, I wrote this song. The orchestration and arrangement of the song was very clear the minute I wrote it, hence I had to get one of Norway's most recognized pop violin players (Madeleine Ossum) to contribute on this tune.
Song Description
As a child I dreamd I would become someone important. Someone who could change the world, fight poverty, make a difference. As a grown person, however, I realize how easy it is to follow the stream, to sink into a life that choses you rather than the other way around. It takes some guts to change it and to follow your dreams, but it is never too late to do something about it.

Lyrics
Waking up here once again
I take a glance out of my window
I do the same drill once again
This old routine is all I know of
And you say the same words again, and do the same things again
That's how I've learnt to know you
And I just repeat what I've said
And start walking ahead
Whatever we dreamed of
I guess we've forgotten it all
Whatever we dreamed of
Whatever we dreamed of
Is down the drain
And all that we have left is just some random life that came our way
I used to think that I could
Perhaps do something good
For poor kids, for poor nations
But twenty years down the line, I'm wealthy and fine
I've only been there on vacation
So please, don't be bragging 'bout me
come on, can't you see I didn't do a thing
No, I just give some money away
To try to feel OK
Whatever we dreamed of
I guess we've forgotten it all
Whatever we dreamed of
Whatever we dreamed of
Is down the drain
And all that we have left is just some random life that came our way
Our way may not be the right way
But it's not too late, is it?
