Lyrics

Birth of a Dawn
Words and Music by
Rick Barclay and Lois Edens

A: Wee hour of the morning
the smell of coffee in the air
Nature sings her song
even if we?re unaware

A: As we stepped out on the front porch
I turned around and asked
When?s the last time you watched the sun rise

B: We always seem to be in a hurry anymore
We miss out on the simple things
but this time we?re gonna share
the miracle God brings everyday

A: So we pulled up two chairs
and as we held each other?s hand
we counted our blessings
we had been given on this land

Inst. solo

repeat B section

A: As the last cool breeze
swept through the window
We felt the earth stretch and yawn

A: At the blink of an eye
the first rays peaked through
We saw the birth of a dawn
