Story Behind the Song

This song is about someone who has been through heartbreak and is finding the courage to begin searching for love once again, despite emotional scars from the past and the inevitable emotional scars in the future. The female vocals represent the protagonist's subconscious thought process as she wrestles with accepting falling in love once again. When she speaks of "you" and "us" she is referring not to another individual but to love itself. The male rap serves as somewhat of a coach, encouraging her to open up emotionally and continue searching for love. In the last line of the rap, he takes the voice of potential new love, telling the singer, "when you're ready to go, come and find me."

Lyrics

Summer eyes are forever ago,
now only time that holds us apart.
Scars of old are reborn in the new,
not chronologically in my heart.

They're telling me to be taking my time,
but now my soul is breathing too slow.
Let's start the bleeding I'm looking for love,
so tell me are you ready to go-go-go, woah.

So tell me are you ready to go-go-go, woah.

So tell me are you ready to go-go-go, woah.

Are you ready to go, let ya think yea.
Why that chain round your heart? Break the link yea?
What you waiting for, you've been hurt before,
but the hurt helps you grow, so,

Here you are, here you stand,
you can take your love by the hand.
And you hear them talking again,
others, well, they don't understand.
Cause you hear love calling your name,
no two love's ever the same.
Not now or ever again,
but you gotta see through the pain.

So your standing a crossroad,
so cold, but you know what you gotta do.
You can take it all slow,
just know you gotta do whats best for you.
You and love can grow together.
You can only hope its better.
And you know, you should never say never,
those summer eyes, they aint forever.

You gotta tryta break the ice that surrounds your heart,
step by step now's the time to start,
gotta break the ice that surrounds your heart,
step by step now's the time to start,
gotta break the ice that surrounds your heart,
step by step now's the time to start,
I'll be the one with the silver lining,
when you're ready to go, come and find me.

So tell me...
So tell me are you ready,
are you ready,
tell me are are are are...

So tell me are you ready to go-go-go, woah.

So tell me me me.
Tell me me me.
So tell me are you ready to go-go-go, woah.
