Song Description

Having the courage to do the things you want by opening up your eyes, mind, heart and life

Story Behind the Song

I guess at the time of writing the song I could not find the words easily and so went to see a friend. We sat down one evening and both felt that the music was light hearted and needed similar lyrics. We caught on the subject of being able to do the things we wanted by having the courage to be open to them. Then it proceeded I wrote a line she answered with another line. She wrote a line and I responded.

Lyrics

Open
Music by Anthony Caplan
Lyrics by Anthony Caplan and Franka Insinger

Life, live a good life
As long as you have friends and love, laughter and music
We make our way though each day
Our hearts create a dance along the way

Make this ride a fun ride
And do all the things you know will make you happy
Lift up your head into the sun
There's enough good in this world for everyone

Open your Eyes
Open your Mind
Open your Heart
Open your Life

A friend said to me
If a song is what I have I must sing as though I really mean it
Don't keep it in, but let it go
Giving, living, breathing that's the feeling

Open your Eyes
Open your Mind
Open your Heart
Open your Life

Bridge
Open your heart to me
Open your life be free
