Song Description

If you are a parent, this could be your life......

Story Behind the Song

While I was writing a new song, my son Alex, seeking yet more food, started singing the words of this song's chorus to me. I began to sing answers back to him. After 10 minutes of this banter, a children's songwriting team was born!

VERSE 1: (ADULT TO CHILD:)

Back away from that cookie jar
Stop and stand where you are
I've got eyes in the back of my head
And my ears have sonar

Don't you use those puppy dog eyes
Don't you think it'll work on me...

CHORUS:

No there isn't any more (CHILD: Why Not?)

No you can't have any more (CHILD: Oh Come On!)

You can sit and moan
I'll be on the phone

(CHILD: ) Well I need some more, I'm a growing kid
Can I have some more, that's all there is

VERSE 2:

(CHILD: ) Can I please watch one more TV show
(PARENT:) It's up to bed now you go
(CHILD:) Oh please, it's a brand new episode
(PARENT:) I'll be glad to tape it for you
(CHILD: FOILED AGAIN!)

(PARENT:)Don't you use those puppy dog eyes
Don't you think it'll work on me...

CHORUS:

No there isn't any more (CHILD: Why Not?)
No you can't have any more (CHILD: Oh Come On!)
You can sit and moan
I'll be on the phone

(CHILD: )
I'll be on the steps
This is child neglect
Can I have some more
...That's all there is

(PARENT:)No you can't have more
(CHILD:) Can I have some more
Well I need some more

(TOGETHER:) That's all there is

(CHILD SPEAKING:)

Oh, come ON Mom...

(PARENT: HERE WE GO!)

(Child:) Just a closer? Like how 'bout a bowl of cereal, or a cookie, or an apple, or a piece of broccoli?

Dead Ostrich??????????

(PARENT: OY!)
