Lyrics

KINGSBURG, LITTLE SWEDEN
Words and Music by Craig Anderson

Through a heartland of wheat on a highway of steel
the Central Pacific was spinning it's wheels
In Eighteen and Seventy, soil looking rich
they stepped off the train at Kings River Switch

From their homeland of Sweden to this Wheatland they came
since Rosendahl and Erickson stepped off the train
they planted their crops, and asked God for rain
and called this land their home...

Look to the West on a valley so green
Turn to the East, see the crowns of the King
touching the sky 'ore the great San Joaquin
Kingsburg, Little Sweden

At the turn of the century in the midst of a boom
Four small hotels and a lot more saloons
By 1907 the towns people cried
and this time asked God to make the town "dry"

The town's prayers were answered in 1908
Kingsburg the City was part of the State
One hundred years later we now celebrate
and call this town our home

Look to the West on a valley so green
Turn to the East see the crowns of the King
On a clear day in April you'll swear this is Eden
Kingsburg, Little Sweden

Chorus

On a clear day in April you'll swear this is Eden
Kingsburg, Little Sweden
